Variation Prediction and Source Identification for Zero-defect Machining Line

PRIZE is addressing variation analysis in a unique way by combining, measurement, part skin models and Finite Element Analysis for prediction and error source identification. The outcomes of the result will be used for tolerance analysis and process control. The methodology implements point cloud models from scanning of in-process parts, fixtures as well as part-fixture assemblies in multi stage lines. Four industrial demonstrations are planned in the project: three demos related to the OEM’s and the fourth to demonstrate the state of the art work holding and machining process by using 3R’s Delphin work holding for Scania motor block using KTH’s Hermle five-axes machine. A public workshop will be organized around this demonstration.
